Families of Aggieland Cycling Together
Who We Are
Brazos Valley Cyclists (BVC) is a community-driven cycling group in Bryan–College Station dedicated to making riding safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone — from kids on their first bike to lifelong riders.
We bring together people who love bikes, want better places to ride, and care about building a healthier, more connected community.
What We Do
BVC focuses on three core goals:
1. Build Community
- Weekly and monthly group rides
- Family-friendly events
- Connections with local cycling groups and clubs
2. Support Safer Cycling
- Advocating for bike-friendly infrastructure
- Working with local governments, TAMU, BCSMPO, and TxDOT
- Sharing information that makes everyday riding easier
3. Celebrate All Riders
Whether you’re road, gravel, mountain, commuting, or cruising — you’re welcome.
Our community includes families, students, racers, commuters, and anyone who just enjoys moving on two wheels.
The Local Cycling Ecosystem
The Brazos Valley has a vibrant and diverse riding scene.
Here are some of the groups that make it special:
- Southenders – long-running road-riding tradition and lively group culture
- A&M Cycling Team – student-driven rides and racing energy
- Brazos Valley Mountainbike Association (BVMBA) – our mountain-bike family (trail guardians of Lake Bryan, Millican Reserve and many more)
- 979SQC – creative, challenge-based cycling adventures
- Aggieland Cycling – community-oriented, inclusive, family-fun-first
- Bike Polo – a growing group with a dedicated court at Anderson Park
- College Station NICA Team – inspiring youth mountain bikers
- Triathlon Club – multisport riders with regular weekly routes
BVC is proud to collaborate, support, and help connect people to all these communities.
Our Story (Short & Sweet)
Founded in the early 1990s, the Brazos Valley Cyclists began as a small group of local riders who wanted safer roads, better routes, and stronger cycling advocacy.
Over the years, BVC members helped shape bike lanes, routes, connections, and education across the region. Today, we’re contributing to a renewed cycling renaissance — with more families riding, more local groups thriving, and growing momentum for safe streets.
Looking Forward
Our vision is simple: a Brazos Valley where anyone — kids, students, parents, seniors — feels comfortable choosing a bike.
We aim to:
- strengthen community connections
- support advocacy and education
- highlight the joy and practicality of everyday cycling
- help more families ride together
Our goal isn’t just more cycling — it’s a better, more connected region for everyone.
