Periodic Events

Monthly
On most First Fridays of the month, Bike979 hosts a Courteous Mass, which meets at the Corner Bar in Northgate at 5:30 pm and rides to the First Friday Artwalk in Downtown Bryan. Route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4880487 . For more info, “like” Bike979 on Facebook.

The fine folks at Karbach Brewing have started hosting a monthly Brews Cruise. Keep an eye out for info about upcoming rides on their College Station Events page, or join their events list on Facebook.

Occasional

The BVC riders and A&M Cycling Team host periodic longer events, including Century Rides on Martin Luther King Day in the winter, and on the Fourth of July in the summer. Tune in to our e-mail lists for details as the dates approach to find out more. These rides are a great way to learn more about some of the scenic areas surrounding College Station and Bryan. If you aren’t quite ready to ride a full 100-mile century, there are usually options to turn back earlier.

Towards the end of the fall and spring semesters at A&M, be on the lookout for information on Facebook about Pub Crawl, which generally begins in Northgate and winds up in downtown Bryan, with multiple stops on the way. Many riders will dress in costume for this festive event, and you’ll see more bicycles than you thought existed in this town!
