TXDot Public Hearing
2015 Bicycle, Pedestrian Public Hearing Flyer
It has been a year since the 2014 TxDOT Bicycle Hearing and a whole lot has happened since then! I would love to tell you all about it. So here is the thing: TAMU is hosting another TxDOT Public Hearing at the MSC this year.
This year’s event will be a coordinated effort by TxDOT, the BCS Metropolitan Transportation Organization, the City of College Station, City of Bryan, Brazos County and the University. There will be a number of short presentations followed by a chance to ask questions and make suggestions and comments.
Attached is the public notice that will show up in the papers next week. I will send out more information soon but if you really want to get involved come to the meeting!
Speaking of getting involved, here is an opportunity for advocacy. Bryan and College Station need photos of bicyclists and pedestrians using existing streets and facilities. We are looking for those cringe-worth photos of places needing better facilities.
We are looking for photos on all approaches to the University. In particular we are want along South College Avenue from University to Downtown Bryan. If anybody has photos from past First Friday Courteous Mass rides that would be great! We want photos on 29thSt/East Tarrow from Carter Creek Parkway to University.
In case we can’t find pictures that illustrate some of our issues we are also looking for folks willing volunteer for a photo op ride and walk in the next month. Please respond if you are interested.
I look forward to hearing from you with photos or willingness to volunteer. If you want to know more about any this call me.
And come to the hearing!
